Dr. Brian Gearity PhD- University of Denver Sport Coaching Program


Brian Gearity, PhD, ATC, CSCS*D, USAW, USATF level 3 sprints, is the founding Director and Associate Professor of the Master of Arts in Sports Coaching program and several online graduate certificate programs at the University of Denver.  Dr. Gearity has been a strength and conditioning, speed coach or mental skills consultant for youth, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, including stops at the University of Tennessee and the MLB Cleveland Baseball Team.

Published by Routledge in 2020, he co-edited the book, “Coach education and Development in Sport: Instructional Strategies” and co-authored, “Understanding strength and conditioning as sport coaching: Bridging the biophysical, pedagogical and sociocultural foundations of practice.” Dr. Gearity is Editor–in-Chief for NSCA Coach and is Associate Editor-in-Chief for the NSCA Strength & Conditioning Journal.
